Dehydrating Jalapenos

For our initial foray into the food dehydrating arena, we’re going to dry some of the early harvested jalapeno peppers.

First step, above, is to slice the peppers.

Wear gloves and eye coverings like glasses or goggles. And, even if you do wear gloves and wash your hands, be CAREFUL touching any part of your body! I made this mistake and touched my man-parts to go to the bathroom, and within the hour the fire pain was so bad I had to use a hand towel soaked in milk as a compress until the heat subsided! Be forewarned.

Next, above, is to carefully space them out onto the drying trays and leave space between the pieces.

The inside pieces, below, are being saved to make a concoction for use as a squirrel repellant for our garden.

More later once these have dried.
