Hiking at Skinner State Park

Being the Fourth of July and no plans, we decided to take the morning and head over to the Skinner State Park in Hadley, MA. The air was cool and there was a veil of summer fog lifting ever-so-slowly from the valley.

Down on one side of the mountain is a memorial to the the victims of the Air Force B-24J that had crashed in May of 1944.

Watching the fog lift:

While we were walking around the upper deck of the former Prospect House, built in 1851 as a hotel, I spotted a series of spider webs with the dew drops on them. I couldn’t resist getting some closeups of them

These were SO captivating.
