For all of the gardening going on, it’s all been inside. Now that it’s late April, it’s time to get the outside area set up to accept plants soon.
Hey, let’s take a tour!
When you first step out the back door and face left, this is the view, below. There’s also a staircase that leads to the apartment upstairs as well as the stairs going down. Our space is considered a shared space, a common walkway for all the tenants. It’s by no means a private space.
Turning to the right, you can see how we’ve already put up the white privacy screen windscreens. This will give us some privacy from the surrounding neighbors as well as a wind barrier because it does get pretty windy, which we learned last year. Plus, the white is a nice backdrop for all the plants we’re planning on having. We also have a lot of white plastic pots in a variety of sizes, so white is right for this space.
Take a few steps forward from our door and turn around and this is the view. It shows the up and down staircases.
Turning around again, you get to take in more of the actual space, which is pretty nice. Those are our kitchen windows, below, and the door and window at the end are the neighbors Ben and Julia. They’re nice and really love what we do with the space outside. They’re not gardeners, but admirers, and that’s ok.
A wider view of the space from the one above shows the staircase to the apartment upstairs. The couple that lives up there is not nice, so we’ll leave it at that.
Stepping to the base of the stairs above, and turn around, and you can really see how much space we have to work with:
It’s going to be REALLY nice, an oasis that we’ll grown from the seeds up. Stay tuned!
