Quilted Leaf Mantle

Many, many years ago, back when I worked at TNT Vacations in Boston, there was an office Halloween Party. One of the challenges was to decorate your cubicle with a seasonally festive theme. Mine was pretty basic compared to many. I made a series of maple and oak leaves out of batik fabric and quilted with metallic gold thread.

They were very cool.

It’s been forever years now, and I’ve finally found a way to use them in something different: A Leaf Mantle/collar. These have been packed in a plastic bag for years and it’s time to make something.

They are currently pinned to George, the Pandemic Mannequin.

I’m not sure if it will be completed in this manner, or attached to a quilted vest or jacket.

Stay tuned.
